Cyclone Alfred | Flood Appeal

Cyclone Alfred has impacted many areas of northern NSW and the effects will continue to be felt for a long time. This is impacting the lives of thousands of people. We know from past emergencies that people can take years to recover from the trauma and the effects of natural disasters, and indeed many of the folk affected by flooding and wind damage in the past week have barely recovered from the 2022 floods.

Jericho Road is here to support churches as they care for their congregations and communities. Our brothers and sisters in these places need us to pray for them and their communities. Jericho Road will be sending funds to local congregations to spend and distribute in their local areas to support those who have been affected by the floods. We know that meeting needs this way, through building relationships with those in need and providing help from within the community, is a great way to make a real difference.

THE NEED

The Presbyterian Church in NSW has many congregations in areas that are currently affected by flooding. Our brothers and sisters in these places need us to pray for them and their communities. Jericho Road will be sending funds to local congregations to spend and distribute in their local areas to support those who have been affected by the floods.

WHy do we need donations?

We don’t yet know the full extent of the damage from Cyclone Alfred, but we do know that recovery will take months, even years. Immediate relief is crucial, but long-term support is just as important. Jericho Road provides financial aid well beyond the initial disaster, helping local churches care for their communities as they rebuild. In past floods, we’ve seen how vital this ongoing support is—raising over $90,000 in 2021-23 to assist those in need. Your donation ensures that help continues long after the waters recede. All donations are tax deductible.
