At various times throughout the year we are looking for volunteers to help us at Jericho Road. Tasks such as helping with mailouts, packing Christmas hampers, sorting food and other donations are just some of the opportunities for volunteers to help us help the vulnerable in our communities. We have listed below some of our current volunteer opportunities. Please click on any to find out more. If you would like to register your interest in helping at Jericho Road in some other way, please fill in the form below and we will be in touch with you about our next volunteer activity.

At Allowah:

Allowah Presbyterian Children’s Hospital at Dundas is seeking a volunteer bus driver for community access visits. This will include various days of the week and varying times depending on the activity.

If you’d like to join the Allowah team, contact us to find out more – or 0491157546.

As you’d imagine, a hospital fills up a lot of bins during the week! We’re looking for someone to help take out the bins once a week, ready for collection.

When: Wednesday mornings (the earlier it happens, the easier it is to make sure cars aren’t parked in the way!)

What will it involve: We have up to 24 bins (general waste and recycling) that are stored in our undercroft carpark. They need to be transported up the driveway onto the curb of the Perry Street cul-de-sac.
The bins can be attached to a small buggy/golf cart and driven up, two at a time. It takes roughly 1-2 hours to do them all, and whilst it’s not glamourous, it would be such a great help to us!

Who can do it: There are a few requirements for someone to meet in order to be able to help us in this way –

  1. Working with Children Check
  2. Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (3 doses) and Influenza
  3. Hold a valid full driver’s license
  4. Be of reasonable fitness for manoeuvring bins

If this is something you think you’d like to do – whether that be weekly, fortnightly, or monthly – we’d love to hear from you!
