Tim serves as a chaplain at Kirkconnell Correctional Centre. He enjoys being able to get to the heart of the gospel. Tim observes that the gospel is received “a lot quicker with inmates than is normally the case on the outside. Inmates have more time to think about things as well as many knowing they have less things to hide behind.”
You can also subscribe to Tim’s prayer newsletter for regular updates about his work, as well as an opportunity to partner with him in prayer.
STEP 1. To sponsor a Chaplain, visit the donation page, and indicate the purpose of donation as “Chaplaincy”.
STEP 2. On the drop down menu, please select which Chaplain you would like to support or whether you would donate to Chaplaincy as a whole. We will allocate your funds to that chaplain and add you to their supporter list to receive updates and prayer points.
State legislation includes provisions for chaplaincy services in NSW correctional centres. Tim’s chaplaincy position at Kirkconnell is enabled by an agreement between Corrective Services NSW and the Civil Chaplaincy Advisory Committee – ensuring that the pastoral care needs of inmates are met.
In NSW, the government provides funding for chaplaincy roles like Tim’s, acknowledging the benefits of chaplains in hospitals and correctional centres. However, this only covers part of a chaplain’s wage. To ensure we can sustain our chaplaincy ministry, we need your help. When you subscribe to Tim’s Prayer Newsletter, you will receive regular updates from Tim about his work as well as prayer points – so you can partner with him in prayer. Become a partner and make a difference.
